Unique Ingredient :

Chrondrus crispus (Carrageenan) – this is a red algae that grows along the rocky coast of Europe and North America, often referred to as ‘Irish Moss’. Carrageenan refers to the cell wall polysaccharide which, when boiled, will form a jelly that is 20-100 times its weight of water. In terms of skin care, it is a water-binding agent, so it will increase hydration by holding onto water. Interestingly, this is also used as a thickener and stabilizer in ice cream, gelatin-like desserts and in Venezuela it is boiled in milk to treat sore throat and congestion.

  • Simple packaging and in English
  • Very cooling
  • No scent
  • Skin felt hydrated and soft
  • Gold mask created an immediate glow after removing mask
  • Extra product soaked into face quickly after mask was removed and was non-sticky

  • Extremely very slippery especially when applying
  • Mask comes in two parts – I prefer one part
  • Eye and mouth slits were quite small. Right eye area felt like it was actually IN the corner of my eye and it made my eye tear
  • Mouth area kept slipping down onto upper lip
  • Didn’t go well over contours of face i.e.- nose, eye area T zone

My Review:

4/5 stars – I would definitely repurchase because of the immediate and next day effects but because of the poor fit and other cons, it loses 1 star.

The packaging was very simple but the product was easily teared open. There was no scent which I liked but I did find that mask was extremely slippery and I almost dropped it a few times. I did not like how it came in two parts – but I was prepared this time and I got a clean plate to put the lower piece on while I applied the upper piece. The mask shape was not the greatest – the eye and mouth slits were very small – in fact my right eye started to tear up because of the irritation of it being so close. The lower piece also kept slipping down and I had to readjust it several times which was annoying. It also did not fit my face contours very well. While the mask was on, it was cooling but with the poor fit and my tearing eye, I was distracted and couldn’t really relax with it on.

However, after removing, the gold mask was a nice touch and I could see an immediate glow. I also felt my skin was smooth and very well hydrated. The following day, the brightening glow effect was still present and my skin felt great!
