Name of Mask :

Happy Hours Hydrating Oil-Control Mask by Miniso Japan. Made in China. 0.85 oz.

Unique Ingredients :

GLYCYRRHIZA INFLATA : also known as Chinese licorice, this has antioxidant, and skin conditioning effects. Because of the molecule licochalcone, it helps to control oil production and to calm and sooth acne prone skin.

SCUTELLARIA BAICALENSIS : also known as Skullcap, this beautiful purple flowering plant contains an important nutrient called flavone which can reverse the aging of your fibroblasts and is truly anti-aging. It protects from sun damage and inhibits melanin synthesis due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, thus aiding in skin-brightening. It is also chemo-protective and may reduce the risk of skin cancer.

SOPHORA FAVESCENS : this is a plant root that has amazing benefits for mild to advanced skin problems and is used in medicinal preparations to treat skin rashes/itchiness.

CAMELLIA SINENSIS : this is a green tea extract that protects skin from free radical damage due to antioxidant functions. It also is anti-inflammatory and promotes healthy skin and collagen production.

Pros :

  • Packaging is very attractive. Cute illustration
  • Easy to tear open
  • Very thin mask – have to apply to face quickly otherwise it can fold upon itself and it becomes a little challenging to untangle
  • Thin essence – more left over that I rubbed over neck area
  • No scent
  • Very cooling effect
  • Stuck on face well, not slippery
  • Great results immediately and the next day

Cons :

  • Only in Chinese, no English so had to translate

My Review :

5/5 Stars – will definitely repurchase, really loved the results.

Packaging was really adorable and it is what attracted me to buy and review the mask. I IMG_5121.jpgfirst translated the entire thing to English.

It was very easy to tear open. The mask itself is extremely thin, it got stuck to itself a few times while I was trying to open it and since it is so thin, it is a little challenging to get unstuck. The part on the upper lip got twisted as a result and I was unable to rectify it.

The essence in the mask was very thin, but I liked that there was no scent. The mask overall fit the face quite well and felt hydrating and cool. It was not slippery and I did not have any problems with it falling off my face.

I kept the mask on for 20 minutes.

After removal: skin felt cool, hydrated, refreshed, balanced in tone, it actually did appear more matte than usual.

Essence soaked in quickly after removal of mask

I found that the lower part of my mask still had essence left in it so I rubbed it on my shoulders and arms. Essence was not sticky.

Following day – oil was still controlled, face felt smooth, hydrated. Did find that acne spots appeared dry as well.

Where I purchased it? Cost?

Purchased in Shanghai, China – unsure of the store or the cost.
