Name of Product :

Papaya Anti-Acne Fast Fix Sheet Mask by Alba Botanica. 1 oz. Product of USA.

From Target’s website :

  • Individually wrapped, serum-soaked fiber mask
  • The zit-zapping trio of papaya, lemon balm and salicylic acid penetrate pores to give pimples their proper punishment
  • Mask is made from natural, sustainably-sourced fiber
  • 100% Vegetarian Ingredients
  • No: Animal Testing, Artificial Colors, Synthetic Fragrances, Parabens, Phthalates or Harsh Sulfates

Unique Ingredients/Material :

Natural sustainably sourced fiber mask.

Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract : Papaya is native to Mexico and Central America. It’s delicious to eat but also fabulous for your skin! It is rich in Vitamin C and also high in B vitamins, vitamin A, amino acids and enzymes like papain, a natural AHA (alpha hydroxy acid)!

Melissa Officinalis (Lemon Balm) Leaf Extract : Lemon Balm is a member of the mint family! It is potent in antioxidants such as caffeic and ferulic acid which protect skin. It has been used to treat acne as it is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.

Salicylic acid 0.5% : this is a BHA (beta hydroxy acid) that helps treat acne by killing bacteria, exfoliating the skin and reducing the pores. It helps to prevent future clogging of pores but in order to be used as a proper treatment, it has to be used on a regular basis.

Pros :

  • Has some certified organic ingredientsIMG_6028.jpg
  • Natural sustainable-sourced fiber sheet mask material
  • No animal testing, 100% vegetarian
  • Inexpensive
  • No irritation, redness
  • One size sheet mask, fits face very well

Cons :

  • Lack of effect on acne – only about 30-40% reduction the following day and no immediate effects noticed
  • Tingling especially around nose area which is apparently a good thing? But this effect lasted even after removal

My Review :

⅖ stars due to lack of any impressive effect on acne. Does leave skin hydrated and plump but mild reduction in blemishes.

Packaging : cute and attractive. Good instructions and funny! Easy to tear open.

IMG_6030.jpgProduct : one size mask, fit all sides of face right to hairline and ears. Great fit. Very well saturated thin fiber mask in a gel-fluid consistency. Very mild sweet scent – pleasant. Little more fluid in packaging. Enough for neck area only. Cooling on skin. No irritation. Very mild tingling only around nose area but packaging states that some tingling is a good thing. Good adherence not slippery.

Left on for 20 minutes.

After removal : honestly didn’t see much difference to my skin in terms of acne reduction. Felt hydrated and plump. Looked brighter. Continued to tingle a little bit. Blemishes looked the same. No redness.

Following day : blemishes about 40% reduced, skin less oily. No other noticeable change.

However, I do like that aloe Vera leaf juice was first ingredient even before water!

Where I purchased it? Cost?

I purchased this mask at Target USA. Retails for ~$4.
