Name of Product :
Pore Minimalist Black Charcoal Sheet Mask by Dr. Jart+. 0.8oz. Made in Korea.
From Sephora’s website :
What it is:
A black sheet mask infused with Korean charcoal to detoxify and reduce the appearance of pores.
– Acne and blemishes
Unique Ingredients/Material :“The Pore Minimalist Black Charcoal Sheet Mask contains Korean charcoal, spearmint extract, and arginine to detoxify, improve elasticity, and clarify pores. Ideal for blemishes, large pores, and excess sebum, this powerful mask also delivers an immediate cooling sensation, leaving skin feeling clean, hydrated, and completely refreshed.”
Spearmint Extract : A great antioxidant due to high levels of total phenolic and flavonoid contents. In terms of blemishes/acne, it has a high content of salicylic acid which helps loosens up dead skin cells, allowing them to shed easier and prevents clogged pores which can lead to acne!
Korean Activated Charcoal : I previously spoke about the use of activated charcoal in skincare but what interested me here was that it was specifically advertised as ‘Korean’ – however, I don’t think it matters which country the charcoal comes from! We are well aware of charcoal’s ability to draw out dirt and impurities, minimize pores and help reduce breakouts.
Moroccan Lava Clay :This unique mineral rich clay helps to bind to sebum and dirt in pores and remove them gently due to its high cleaning power and electrostatic force.
- One size sheet mask with an excellent fit, adheres well
- Simple packing with easy to follow instructions
- Non-sticky finish
- Weird scent
- Not long lasting effects
- Tingling sensation
My Review :
2.5/5 I would not repurchase due to lack of lasting effect on pores.
Packaging : Simple packaging, English and French, easy to tear open.
Product : Black charcoal mask, excellent fit. Has a weird scent- maybe it’s the result of spearmint mixed with charcoal? No redness, some mild eye burning when applying mask around eye contour (I think some fluid got in my eye) and mid tingling around nose, no irritation though. Tons of fluid left in package which I applied to face, neck, entire chest after removing mask.
Kept on for 40 minutes
After removal : Honestly, I think my pores look reduced in size but I can still see them though and they don’t look exactly ‘purified’. Unsure how I feel about this immediately after removal. Not sticky at all. Pores did look smaller as the night went on.
Following day : In AM – skin looked back to normal, no change to pore size and gained 3 new whiteheads -grr!
My recommendation – wear this in the AM before an event if you want to see a difference in your pore size, otherwise this is not a night sheet mask!
