Name of Product :
Foot and Heel Peeling Mask by Esfolio. 20 ml. Made in Korea.
Unique Ingredients :
Fruit complex such as papaya, lemon and grapefruit softens the keratin on the feet.
Herbal complexes such as jasmine, lavender and rosemary calms and nourishes the skin.
My Review :
4.5/5 – loses 0.5 star because of the time commitment and mess needed for the peeling process.
Packaging : Adorable and well done – has two paw shaped packets of the peeling gel, two waterproof boots with tape. Even the tape is cute, it is clear with black paw prints on it! Packets itself is only in Korean but the cardboard it came in has both English and Korean. Needed scissors to open the packets – no tear indents.
Product : First, start by washing your feet and drying them thoroughly. Then I opened the boots, the outer layer is plastic and there is an inner cloth-like layer. I poured the peeling gel packet into the boot and then put my foot in. Fit my size 8.5 US foot excellently. There are two flaps which you apply the tape to so that your ankle area is secured closed/tight. Instructions say to keep on for 60-90 minutes. I opted for 90 minutes. There was no irritation or tingling and the gel was actually cooling on my feet.
After removal : After 90 minutes, I went back to my shower, removed the boots and rinsed off my feet.
I saw no immediate difference except my feet felt hydrated. The packaging says to expect peeling 4-6 days after application – so now I wait!
Day 2-5 : No change.
Day 6 : Peeling started mainly on my left foot.
Day 7 : Both feet began to peel. More peeling after showering.
Day 8-12 : Peeling continued. Day 12, sole of feet were done peeling but there was some remaining peeling along the transition between sole and top of feet.
Day 13-15 : Last few areas were finished peeling but I started getting tired of seeing the peeling skin so I exfoliated a bit after showering to speed up the process.
After peeling was finished, feet looked so smooth and felt very soft! I think this is a good idea for people who don’t regularly tend to calluses or mechanically exfoliate their feet. It is a bit of a long process and during the peeling, I recommend wearing socks or you will find flakes everywhere which is kind of nasty.
